Notice of Determination for Remediation of One Arrow First Nation River Lot 62

April 22, 2021 - Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Remediation of One Arrow First Nation River Lot 62 is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:
-a Band Council Resolution from One Arrow First Nation authorizing site access and remediation be completed
-the remediation will clean up the existing contamination identified in the Phase II environmental site assessment, and a Risk Assessment / Remedial Action Plan
 -no comments were received from the public about the project
 -mitigation measures are required for the project
Implementation of the following mitigation measures are required for the project:
 -refueling practices to minimize possibility of spills. All spills must be reported to relevant federal, provincial and municipal government departments
 -impacted soil will be excavated and transported to an approved disposal facility
 -clean fill from local source will be utilized after removal of impacted soil
 -Site will be fenced off, and access restricted to authorized workers only with adequate training 
 
Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
