Wharf Reconstruction – Missinipe, SK - Winter 2021-22 – Public Comments Invited

April 23, 2021 - Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Small Craft Harbours Branch and Transport Canada must determine whether the proposed Wharf Reconstruction Project – Winter 2021-22 located in Missinipe, SK is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Transport Canada are inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

Missinipe Harbour is located on the West side of Otter Lake, approximately 317 km North of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The harbour is under the administration of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Small Craft Harbours Branch (SCH).

Small Craft Harbours is proposing to undertake the reconstruction of the timber wharf at the Missinipe Harbour. The scope of work includes the demolition of the existing timber wharf, and the construction of a new L-shaped timber crib wharf including new timber wheel-guards and steel bollards.
