Notice of determination for the Key Junction Gas Bar & Confectionery

April 20, 2021 - Indigenous Services Canada has determined that the proposed Key Junction Gas Bar & Confectionery is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

The determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

-the Key First Nation has applied to SIEF for funding assistance to construct a gas station on reserve
-the operation of the Key Junction Gas Bar & Confectionery will provide employment and training opportunities for members of the community
-an updated emergency response plan will be submitted prior to the operation of the Gas Station
-the fuel storage tanks will be registered with Environment and Climate Change Canada
-all waste generated by the operation of the gas station will go to the Key landfill
-the gas station will be connected to the community water, sewer, electrical and natural gas hookups

Indigenous Services Canada is satisfied that the carrying out of the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
