Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Front Gate Water Loop - Garrison Wainwright

April 19, 2021 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The purpose of this project is to create a water loop to improve circulation and residual chlorine levels at the Front Gate Building (B735) and Denwood House (B200) at Garrison Wainwright. A new water line will be installed to connect the service lines at B735 and B200 to the east end of Avenue du Parc. Project activities will include:
· mobilization and demobilization of equipment and materials
· civil works including traffic control, utility locates, tree clearing and grubbing, surface restoration
· installation of new water line with horizontal directional drilling method
· line connections and modifications
· installation of recirculation pumping station
· electrical connections
