Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Upgrade Range 1 at Garrison Wainwright

March 10, 2021 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

This project involves improvements to the existing Range 1 facility at Garrison Wainwright. Project design is scheduled for 2021. Construction is proposed for 2021 or 2022. Project activities include:
· Topographic survey
· Balanced cut and fill design to achieve a 400 metre range
· Movement of soil berms to achieve a 400 metre range
