The Proposed Project

The Permit Holder proposes to carry out physical activities related to the completion of the Nanaimo Vancouver Passenger Only Ferry Service at the South SeaBus Terminal up until December 31, 2021. This would require an extension to the approved project permit (PER No. 18-044), which has an expiry date of December 31, 2020.

The extension is being requested as a result of project scheduling delays. The scope of works that would be completed during the extended period remains unchanged and includes the installation of two replacement fenders, a replacement passenger ramp, a replacement potable water supply line, modifications to emergency exit doors to facilitate access to the new ramp, and refurbishment of a storage area for use as a passenger waiting lounge.
