To help inform this determination, we are inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

The proposed project includes the construction of a water treatment plant, below-grade reservoir and intake to draw raw water from Georgian Bay. The new water treatment plant will be constructed east of Wilmer's Road on Chippewas of Nawash First Nation land, approximately 1 km northeast of the old water treatment plant. To accommodate for future growth within the community and to meet fire flow needs, the project will include repair and replacement of existing water mains along with expansion of the distribution system into areas of future growth. The purpose of this project is to provide residents with a safe and reliable drinking water supply that satisfies both provincial and federal drinking water quality standards and guidelines.
