The Proposed Project
The existing water treatment plant for Standing Buffalo Dakota Nation has reached the end of it's life span as it is not able to meet demand of the community, therefore a new water treatment plant is proposed to be constructed in SW-33-21-14-W2M. The water treatment plant upgrades to include a new water treatment plan, including room for expansion to meet the future goals of the community.
The project will include the following new infrastructure:
- New water treatment plant including building, process equipment, below-grade concrete tankage and associated site-work including road approaches from existing road, site roads, fencing and landscaping
- New ~2100 m potable water supply line
- New ~50 m sewer line connecting to existing sewer line
- New electrical service from SaskPower
- New natural gas service from SaskEnergy
- Conversion of an existing water treatment plant to a pressure reducing station
Solid waste generated during construction will be hauled to an approved landfill. Liquid waste generated during construction will be hauled to approved wastewater treatment facility. No gaseous or hazardous waste is expected to be generated during construction.
