Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Former electrical substation remediation

October 9, 2020 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

This project consists of work execution, labor, materials/supplies and tools needed for the remediation of the contaminated site of the former electrical substation. The work includes but is not limited to: fence removal, excavation and off-site disposal of contaminated soil and plugging or repair of monitoring wells. The work also includes soil import and final grading, seeding and sodding.
