Public Notice - Public Comments Invited

2020-08-24 – Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada must determine whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

Written comments must be submitted by 2020-09-23 to the contact identified on the project page.

The Proposed Project

The Capital Region Emergency Services Telecommunications (CREST) provides emergency communications for the safety of our communities. They propose to add microwave dishes and VHF antennas on the existing DND structures for the purpose of a new 700MHZ public safety network. The towers may undergo periodic antenna additions or replacements.

The project is located at 48° 20′ 41.31″ -123° 32′ 56″on Mary Hill – 5300 William Head Road, Metchosin, British Columbia and 48° 23′ 21.3″ -123° 29′ 15.8″ on Albert Head Road, Metchosin, British Columbia.
