The Proposed Project

A private proponent is proposing the construction of a 38-meter-long stone dust driveway through federal lands owned by the National Capital Commission (lot 2735286) to create access to the proponent's private property (lot 2924022). Due to wetlands located on the private property, the National Capital Commission lands present the only acceptable area to construct the driveway.

Once built, the driveway will serve as an access road to enable the construction of a one-storey residential house on the proponent's private lot. Once the house is constructed, the driveway will be narrowed, and the disturbed areas will be re-naturalized using native plant material.

The proposed duration of the work is 5 -10 working days in fall 2020.
