Notice of Determination

Centerm Expansion Project – Amendment (Condition 66 – Dredging), Vancouver B.C. – February 28, 2020 – The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the amendment of condition 66 of Project Permit PER No. 15-012, to extend the period during which dredging is allowed, is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • Impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples
  • Indigenous knowledge
  • Community knowledge
  • Comments received from the public
  • Technically and economically feasible mitigation measures

Mitigation measures taken into account for this determination are:

  • There will be no dredging from April 5 to August 15, 2020, inclusive
  • Dredging conducted from March 1 to April 5, 2020, will be conducted under a valid Fisheries Act authorization

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority is satisfied that the carrying out of Amendment PER No. 15-012-02 is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Therefore, the Vancouver Fraser Port Authority may carry out the project, as amended, exercise any power, perform any duty or function, or provide financial assistance to enable the project, as amended, to be carried out in whole or in part.
