27 February 2020 – The Royal Canadian Mounted Police must determine whether the proposed Re-Surface Parking Lot at Detachment project, located in New Brunswick is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The project is to replace the existing asphalt laneway and parking area due to life cycle replacement. The surface area of the asphalt is approximately 2,100 square metres. The location of this detachment is 4485, rue du Moulin, Tracadie-Sheila, NB, and is located 1km off exit 365 of 11 Hwy. It was constructed in 1992-1993 and has a building footprint of approximately 700 sq. metres. Adjacent to the property is a commercial plaza. 500 metres to the east is Rue Principale Bridge which runs over a river, approximately 5km away from the Acadian Peninsula.
