Kapawe'no First Nation Echo Prairie Waterline Project – Public Comments Invited

November 25, 2019 – Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Kapawe'no First Nation Echo Prairie Waterline Project located between Prairie Echo and Grouard Mission is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination.

The Proposed Project

Kapawe'no First Nation is proposing to construct a potable water supply line between Prairie Echo and Grouard Mission. The Waterline will serve the current residents of Pakashan First Nation who currently must truck haul their water. Work will entail the installation of a 150mm trunk main waterline, and associated pressure relief and control valving. It will entail two truckfills off the First Nation, and the connection of the homes to water on the Kapawe'no First Nation 150D (Pakashan).
