Husky Energy Exploration Drilling Project — Public Comments Invited

October 11, 2018 – The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) is conducting a federal environmental assessment for the proposed Husky Energy Exploration Drilling Project, located east of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, in the Atlantic Ocean.

The Agency invites the public and Indigenous groups to comment on the potential environmental effects of the project and the proposed measures to prevent or mitigate those effects as described in the proponent's summary of the Environmental Impact Statement.

All comments received will be considered public. Written comments in either official language must be submitted by November 10, 2018 to:

The Proposed Project

Husky Oil Operations Ltd. (Husky) is proposing to conduct an exploration drilling project within offshore exploration licenses on the Grand Banks, located approximately 350 kilometres east of St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, in the Atlantic Ocean. As proposed, the Husky Energy Exploration Drilling Project would allow the proponent, over a nine-year period, to determine the presence, nature, and quantities of the potential hydrocarbon resource in exploration licences 1151, 1152 and 1155.
