Mr. Igloliorte:
SUBJECT: Exploration Licences 1121 and 1155
The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) has reviewed the information submitted by Husky Oil Operations Limited (Husky) on April 16, 2018. The submission advises that:
- Husky's term for Exploration Licence (EL) 1121 has expired and requests removal of this EL from the environmental assessment (EA) for the Husky Energy Exploration Drilling Project (the Project); and
- EL 1155 has been issued to Husky as operator and requests incorporation of this EL into the EA for the Project.
The Agency will proceed with the removal of EL 1121 from the EA of the Project and the associated EIS Guidelines will be updated accordingly.
The Agency will consider whether it will include EL 1155 in the EA of the Project and will make a decision as early as May 22, 2018.
Please note that your April 16, 2018 letter will be posted to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry along with this response.
