Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Project — Additional Funding Allocated for the Environmental Assessment

June 30, 2016 — The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency has allocated an additional $148,381 to four applicants to assist their participation in the environmental assessment process for the proposed Roberts Bank Terminal 2 Project, located in Delta, B.C.

Applicant Allocation
Malahat First Nation $29,350
Pauquachin First Nation $12,000
Tsartlip First Nation $77,031
Tsawout First Nation $30,000
Total $148,381

The funding will assist recipients to review and comment on the Environmental Impact Statement and the potential environmental effects of marine shipping associated with the project, and to prepare for and participate in the public hearing. Indigenous groups will also receive funding to review the Panel Report.

The funding will also assist recipients to comment on the potential conditions that would be required, if the project is allowed to proceed.

This funding is allocated through the Participant Funding Program administered by the Agency. A funding review committee, independent of the panel process, was established to assess the requests for funding.
