Morrison Copper-Gold Project – Public Comments Invited

OTTAWA – July 20, 2011 – The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the CEA Agency) and British Columbia's Environmental Assessment Office (EAO) are inviting public comments related to the ongoing co-operative environmental assessment of the Morrison Copper-Gold Project.

The proponent has recently submitted an addendum to their existing Application / Environmental Impact Statement (Application/EIS) (also referred to as the Response Review Report) that describes changes to the project design and documents the potential environmental effects of all phases of the project.

The public comment period is from July 27 to August 10. All comments received during this period will be taken into consideration. Any comments filed need only be submitted once to either the CEA Agency or the EAO to be considered for both the provincial and federal environmental assessments.

The executive summary of the proponent's addendum document, and the Application/EIS and the addendum, are available for viewing at local viewing centres and on the CEA Agency's website and the EAO's website at www.eao.gov.bc.

Pacific Booker Minerals Inc. is proposing the construction and operation of an open-pit copper-gold-molybdenum mine, located approximately 65 kilometres northeast of Smithers and 35 kilometres north of the Village of Granisle, British Columbia. The proposed ore production rate will be 30,000 tonnes per day over a minimum 21-year operation period.

The CEA Agency administers the federal environmental assessment process, which identifies the environmental effects of proposed projects and measures to address those effects, in support of sustainable development.
