Morrison Copper-Gold Project – Availability of $50,000 to Participate in the Environmental Assessment

OTTAWA – May 25, 2010 – The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is making available $50,000 under its Participant Funding Program to assist groups and individuals participate in the environmental assessment of the proposed Morrison Copper-Gold Project in British Columbia.

To receive funding, successful applicants must participate in the environmental assessment of the project. This funding is intended for activities that will follow the public consultation currently underway on the scope of the project.

A funding review committee, independent of the environmental assessment process, will consider all applications and make recommendations on the allocation of funds. Applications received by the Agency by June 23, 2010 will be considered.

Information on the program is available at www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca. Information on the project is also available on the Agency’s Web site in the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry, under reference number 09-03-48445.

Pacific Booker Minerals Inc. is proposing the construction and operation of an open-pit copper-gold-molybdenum mine, located approximately 65 km northeast of Smithers and 35 km north of Granisle, B.C. The proposed ore production rate will be 30,000 tonnes per day over a minimum 21-year operation period.

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency administers the federal environmental assessment process, which identifies the environmental effects of proposed projects and measures to address those effects, in support of sustainable development.
