Morrison Copper-Gold Project – Availability of $50,000 to Participate in the Environmental Assessment

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is making available $50,000 under its Participant Funding Program to assist groups and individuals to participate in the environmental assessment of the proposed Morrison Copper-Gold Project in British Columbia.

Pacific Booker Minerals Inc. is proposing the construction and operation of an open-pit copper-gold-molybdenum mine, located approximately 65 km northeast of Smithers and 35 km north of Granisle, B.C. The proposed ore production rate will be 30,000 tonnes per day over a minimum 21-year operation period.

To receive funding, successful applicants must participate in the environmental assessment of the project. This funding is intended for activities that will follow the public consultation currently underway on the scope of the project.

A funding review committee, independent of the environmental assessment process, will consider all applications and make recommendations on the allocation of funds. Applications received by the Agency by June 23, 2010 will be considered.

Information on the program, including the Participant Funding Program Guide, the application form and the contribution agreement, is available at www.ceaa-acee.gc.ca. Information on the project is also available on the Agency’s Web site in the Canadian Environmental Assessment Registry, under reference number 09-03-48445.
