Pacific Future Energy Refinery Project — Public Comment Invited on draft Guidelines and Availability of Participant Funding

October 7, 2016 — The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency invites the public to comment on the draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) Guidelines for the proposed Pacific Future Energy Refinery Project in northwestern British Columbia. The Minister of Environment and Climate Change has referred the environmental assessment of the project to an independent review panel.

Public Comment Period

The Agency is seeking comments on which aspects of the environment may be affected by the project and what should be examined during the environmental assessment, as detailed in the draft EIS Guidelines.

Following this comment period, the Agency will finalize and issue the EIS Guidelines to the proponent. All comments received will be considered public. Written comments must be submitted by November 7, 2016 to:

Participant Funding

The Agency is making funding available to assist the public and Indigenous groups in participating in the environmental assessment by review panel of the project.

Applications received by November 7, 2016 will be considered. Recipients and the amount of funding allocated will be announced at a later date.
