Urgent Sanitary Pipe Repair and Contaminated Soil Abatement

THIS PROJECT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED THROUGH THE IAA PROCESS, DUE TO SANITARY LINE BREACH AND IMPACT TO SOILS. A MITIGATION MEASURES FORM WILL BE REQUIRED. A sanitary branch approximately 2.5 to 3 feet below grade leaving the staff lunchroom on the ground floor has separated from the main sanitary line. The sanitary branch is fed by a 4 inch stack from the second floor that contains a group of change rooms, the ground floor lunchroom and a floor drain from room 003. It is recommended that the pipe be excavated and repaired as required and the joint and to be supported below grade. These supports shall prevent future separation of the sanitary branch from the main. There would be a combination of grey water and human waste leaking under the ground floor slab. It is recommended that repairs to the sanitary piping be made immediately and contaminated soil abated. An Environmental consultant will be required to determine extent of contamination and provide a scope to abate contaminated soil.
