Piikani New School Project

Piikani Nation has proposed the construction of a new school adjacent to the Piikani Nation Secondary Highschool. The proposed school will be constructed on the current school's running track. The track will be removed and the site stripped to allow for construction.  The project will require demolition of the 1959 portion of the school on the west side of the existing school. 


Latest update

May 12, 2023 – Indigenous Services Canada issued its Notice of Determination (iaac-aeic.gc.ca)and determined that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
