August 31, 2026 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has proposed a project. 22 Wing/CFB North Bay is proposing removal and upgrades to eleven (11) existing petroleum storage tank systems to meet Federal Regulations and applicable codes. Project activities will include:

  • Removal and replacement of existing infrastructure at select locations, including, but not limited to, petroleum storage tanks, generator systems, bollards, and concrete pads;
  • Repairs and upgrades to existing infrastructure and systems; and
  • Site restoration, including landscaping and re-establishment of existing grades, as required.
