Notice of Time Limit Extension

Ottawa — August 25, 2022 — The Impact Assessment Agency of Canada (the Agency) granted an extension to the three-year time limit for Galaxy Lithium (Canada) Inc. (the proponent) to provide the required information or studies described in the final Guidelines for the Preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement for the environmental assessment of the James Bay Lithium Mine Project.

The Agency has taken this action further to a written request from the proponent that the time limit be extended by 180 days. The reasons for the Agency's determination are provided in its response to the proponent.

The new deadline for the proponent to provide the required information or studies described in the final Guidelines for the Preparation of an Environmental Impact Statement is February 24, 2023.
