The Proposed Project

The Department of National Defence (DND) has determined the requirement to construct an addition to Hangar 13 at Canadian Forces Base Greenwood in Greenwood, Nova Scotia. The addition is for a storage shelter and work will generally consist of construction of a one storey, steel frame, insulated metal panel, slab on grade. The location of the proposed project is located on DND property within the Quick Response Area of the Airfield Operations Zone at Hangar 13, East of Buffalo Drive. The area of work will be fully within the existing security fence line in a developed area of the Base. The closest ecological receptor is the Annapolis River approximately 1000 meters north east of the project area. It is anticipated the project will consist of various activities including excavation or trenching, backfilling, construction of new addition, and reinstatement of areas including landscaping.
