Public Comment Period on Intent to Make a Determination
Sprung Shelter Gym and Multi-Purpose Facility Construction, Op IMPACT, Ali Al-Salem Air Base, Kuwait

October 6, 2020 — The Department of National Defence must decide whether the proposed project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this decision, the Department of National Defence is inviting comments from the public on the project and its potential effects on the environment. All comments received will be considered public. For more information, individuals should consult the Privacy Notice on the Registry website.

The Proposed Project

The Canadian Task Force on Op IMPACT at the Operational Support Hub South West Asia will construct a gym and multi-purpose facility. This will include ground preparation and construction of a concrete pad on the East side of Camp Canada. A 160 foot by 95 foot Sprung Shelter will be procured and installed at this location. Interior fit-up will include electrical and central HVAC installation.
